Mom's meatloaf Recipe

1 lb. hamburger
1/2 to 3/4 cup crushed saltines or oatmeal (can combine saltines and sandwich bread)
1 cup tomato sauce
1 egg
1/2 onion, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Put in loaf pan and spread top with ketchup, add about 1/8 to 1/4 cup water around bottom of pan. Bake at 350º about one hour, check at 45 minutes.

This recipe is the one that Mom used wen we were growing up. Other than pint bean soup meal, this was (and is) my favorite meal, along with veggies. I'v tried to imitate the recipe and mine is good, but never quite the same as Mom's
