If you have a recipe that calls for buttermilk and you don't want to buy it just for that recipe you can make your own by just adding about 1 1/2 tsp of vinegar to 1 cup of milk. About 3/4 a tsp to 1/2 cup milk etc. etc.

This is also a substitute for sour milk. This is probably the only recipe of mine that I am not going to say "this is so yummy!"
