This recipe for Missing Buttermilk? Use this!, by Laurel Witvoet, is from The Clausing Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
If you have a recipe that calls for buttermilk and you don't want to buy it just for that recipe you can make your own by just adding about 1 1/2 tsp of vinegar to 1 cup of milk. About 3/4 a tsp to 1/2 cup milk etc. etc.
This is also a substitute for sour milk. This is probably the only recipe of mine that I am not going to say "this is so yummy!"
