3 c. whole bran cereal
1 c. boiling water. Mix well and let cool,
2 eggs,
2 c. buttermilk,
1/2c. veg. oil,
2 tbl. molasses,
1 c. chopped apples, dates, nuts, or raisins

Mix above well. Add 2 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 tsp. soda. Mix well. You can make muffins now or refrigerate batter in a tightly covered container up to 6 weeks. After being refrigerated, stir batter to distribute fruit. Fill muffin tins 2/3 full, bake at 425 º for 20 min
