Pastry:
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
6 T. shortening
2 T. ice water
Cut In:
Salt and shortening in flour until mixture resembles small peas.
Add: Water, mixing with fork or spoon
Roll out: and place loosely in 9" pie pan. Fold edges under flute.
Pecan Filling:
4 eggs
1 c brown sugar
1 c. corn syrup
2 T. melted butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c pecans (halved or chopped)

Beat eggs until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients, and pour in pan. Bake at 375º for 20 minutes, reduce heat to 300º and bake 25 minutes.
