2c. flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 shortening
cut shortening into flour until crumbly

stir together 3 tbl. evaporated milk and 3 tbl water and stir into crumbly mixture.
Press firmly into 6x9 baking dish.

Mix 4 cups tart apples with 1/2 c. sugar and 1/3 tsp. cinnamon and place on crust. Dot with butter, cover with foil and bake 425 degrees for 25 min. on bottom rack.

Beat 1 egg,
1/2 c. evaporated milk, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/2 c. sugar and 2 c. shredded coconut.
Pour over apples. Reduce heat to 325 and continue baking for 20 -30 min., until nicely browned.
Cool. Cut into strips or squares to serve.

For a richer, easier to eat from the fingers food, substitute 1 c. condensed sweetened milk for the 1/2 cup evaporated milk.
