"The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found."--Calvin Trillin

Personal Notes:
Growing up half Italian and half Swedish I was served many different foods. Even when I was a kid I knew a good spaghetti sauce when I saw one. I remember going over to Grandma Blooms house and she said that she was going to give us macaroni with sauce. I was shocked when she opened the can of soup and was not even going to heat it, so I asked if I could help cook. I took the soup, added it to a pan and then added salt, pepper, garlic powder and wine and heated it.
Grandma loved it.
