1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1 c. butter or margarine
4 c. bread, torn into pieces, better if dry
4 c. cornbread, torn into pieces
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. Poultry Seasoning
1 c. hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine bread and cornbread in roasting pan. Saute the onion and celery in butter or margarine, pour over the bread/cornbread mixture. Add salt and Poultry Seasoning, mix well. Add hot water and mix well. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.

This was Aunt Norma Jean's recipe for stuffing. Daddy always praised her stuffing and I was fortunate to get the recipe from her. You can easily double or triple this recipe.You can also stuff the turkey and cook as directed, or cook it separately, it's great either way! I usually make a triple batch for our family and seldom have much if any left. If you do have leftovers, it is great with pinto beans.
