lb. Butter
cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg, separated
1 cup flour, sifted
cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup jelly or jam
1 tsp. Brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and egg yolk; beat until light. Add flour; blend well. Roll dough into balls, using teaspoon of batter for each. Dip each ball in beaten egg white, then into chopped nuts, coating well. Place on greased cookie sheet, making a depression in center of each ball with thumb. Bake 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on racks 10 minutes. Melt jelly with brandy; fill centers of cookies. Makes 2 dozen. Oven: 300F.
