¼ lb. Butter
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg, separated
1 cup flour, sifted
¾ cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup jelly or jam
1 tsp. Brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and egg yolk; beat until light. Add flour; blend well. Roll dough into balls, using ½ teaspoon of batter for each. Dip each ball in beaten egg white, then into chopped nuts, coating well. Place on greased cookie sheet, making a depression in center of each ball with thumb. Bake 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on racks 10 minutes. Melt jelly with brandy; fill centers of cookies. Makes 2 dozen. Oven: 300F.
