6 sweet potatoes (peel & boil) or 3 large cans
1 cup sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup Karo or maple syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 stick butter (melted)

Preheat oven 350
Add cooked potatoes in a large mixing bowl and whip with a hand mixer
Add the rest of ingredients to the potatoes and mix with mixer
Place in 9x13 glass baking dish and top with topping
For topping:
Mix all topping ingredients together with pastry blender
Crumble on top of casserole
Bake for 30 minutes

My Nana Sharon used to make this every Thanksgiving and Christmas...after she passed my Mom picked up the tradition and it has now been passed on to me...everytime I make this it brings back sweet memories of my sweet Nana!
