4 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. orange juice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) margarine
1/4 c. sugar
8 slices French or Italian bread, ½ inch thick

Directions:
Arrange bread in pan in single layer. Beat together eggs, OJ, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg and pour over bread. Chill at least 2 hours, or overnight. Melt marg. in 10X15 in. pan and arrange soaked bread on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. A syrup recipe is included, which we didn’t like all that much, but here it is, in case it strikes anyone’s fancy. You just combine 1/2 cup sugar, one stick margarine and a cup of OJ in a saucepan and cook for ten minutes over low heat (don’t boil).
