2 1/2 C sugar
1/2 C light corn syrup
1/4 t salt
1/2 C water
2 egg whites, large eggs
1 t vanilla
1 C coarsely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine in saucepan the sugar, corn syrup, salt and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Cook, without stirring, to hard ball stage (260). Place egg whites in a bowl and beat until stiff. Gradually add the syrup to the egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating until soft peaks form. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Quickly drop from a spoon the mixture onto waxed paper.
