3 pounds lean stew meat or chuck roast cubed
2 cans golden mushroom soup
1 package dry onion soup mix
1-1 1/2 cups sherry
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 cup raw rice
3 tablespoons oil
1 can beef broth plus 1/2 can water
3 tablespoons parsley
1 small onion, chopped

Preheat oven 350
Mix the first 6 ingredients; place in a roaster and bake for 3 hours
Brown the rice and oil in a skillet and transfer to a casserole dish
Add the rest of the ingredients to the rice and cover
Bake the rice in the oven for the last 30 minutes
Serve sherried beef over the browned rice

This is a great crock pot recipe also. Just make the rice on the stove top with the ingredients listed and use the cooking time on the rice.
