Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 large onion, sliced into rings
1 1/2 T. tomato paste
1/3 c. dry red wine
1 lb. ground beef
handful fresh parsley leaves, chopped
1 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
3 slices provolone cheese
1/2 loaf of garlic bread

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions with a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cover saucepan and cook until the onions begin to soften, about 6 minutes. You want them to be semi-translucent but not browned. Add the tomato paste and stir until the onions are coated and fully softened. Add red wine and cook until almost all the liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat and set aside.

Bake garlic bread according to package directions. I like to do the halves separately so they're a little crispy, or I make my own by toasting ciabatta with some olive oil, minced garlic, and parmesan.

Combine ground beef, parsley, oregano, and crushed red pepper. If it still doesn't seem spicy enough, throw in some hot sauce. Form patties and cook on grill or on the stovetop.

Layer the burgers: garlic bread, beef patty, caramelized onions, and provolone. Broil for a few seconds to melt provolone, then add another piece of garlic bread on top if you can handle it. You'll probably end up eating this with a knife and fork, either way.
