Sweet Potatoes:
3 cups cooked mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter

Topping:
1/3 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sweet Potatoes:
Combine sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, and butter, and pour into a 9 x 13 greased casserole dish.

Topping:
Cream butter, sugar, and flour. Add nuts.

Sprinkle topping on top of sweet potatoes, and bake at 350º for 30 minutes.

Richard Brevard Russell, Jr. (1897 – 1971) was a Democrat who represented Georgia in the Senate from 1933 until his death in 1971. He was a founder and leader of the Conservative coalition that dominated Congress from 1937 to 1963, and at his death was the most senior member of the Senate.
