1 cup soft shortening
11/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp. Soda
2 tsp. Cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 Tbsp. Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, then add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt and add to sugar mixture. Chill 1 hr. Combine cinnamon and sugar. Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place balls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 400F for 10 to 12 minutes, until light brown. Cookies will puff up at first and then flatten out. They should be soft.
