1 C. shortening
2 C. sugar
2 eggs
2 C. applesauce
3 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 C. raisins or dates
2 C. oatmeal
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and then add applesauce. Add oatmeal, raisins or dates. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes.
