1 c. Hominy grits, quick-cooking
3 c. milk
1 t. salt
2 eggs (lightly beaten)
1 c. hot water
6 chopped garlic cloves
6 T. butter
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
salt and pepper for taste

Directions:
Directions:
preheat the oven to 350F. stir the grits into the milk and add the salt. cook over medium heat, stirring often, so the mixture does not scorch, for 5-7 minutes or until thickened. remove from heat and add the eggs. then add the water, stirring vigorously. separately, saute the garlic in the butter then add to grits. return the mixture to the heat and cook until thickened again. add the cheese and the mix well. season with salt and pepper. place in a baking pan and bake for 30 minutes. let rest 10 minutes before serving.
