2 cups sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
pinch of salt
1 cup milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
chopped nuts - optional

Mix sugar, cocoa and salt.
Add milk, boil to soft ball stage (must use candy thermometer)
Remove from stove and add butter, when luke warm add vanilla and beat until creamy.
Add nuts if desired.

Pour into buttered pans and cut into squares.
