flour cornmeal
bacon or ham dripping
salt
pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Wash tomatoes and cut off blemishes and slice about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick(crosswise). Dip in a`mixture of flour and cornmeal. Fry in bacon or ham drippings until tender and brown on both side.
About 20 to 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
5 medium sized tomatoes will serve about 4 people

Dad and Mother both like fried green tomatoes. when the tomatoes were big enough to pick .Dad would say to Mother it would be nice to have some fried tomatoes.
