1/2 c. butter or marg.
3 c. pared diced apples
1 c. sugar
Topping:
3 egg yolk
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat thoroughly. Add the sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Batter will be very stiff. Mix apples in with a spoon. Press batter down evenly into 9 X 13" pan. Beat egg whites until stiff. Now add brown sugar gradually. Fold in nuts and coconut. Spread over the batter. Bake @ 350 for approximately 40 minutes or until done.
