9 c Crispix cereal (small box)
2 c coconut
10 oz slivered almonds or walnuts (I use walnuts)
1 c lightly salted cocktail peanuts

1 c brown sugar-packed
1/2 c margarine (butter)
1/2 c light corn syrup- don't try to use the dark stuff
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1-12 oz pkg butterscotch chips

Add cereal, coconut, walnuts peanuts together into large mixing bowl. In medium sauce pan, cook brown sugar, corn syrup, and oleo (butter). Stir constantly until it comes to a boil. Boil 5 minutes without stirring (low heat). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour hot mixture over cereal and lightly fold in. Pour mixture from mixing bowl into large Teflon coated cookie sheet and put into oven at 250º. Cook for 1 hour , stirring every 15 minutes. Last 15 min. add butterscotch chips. Pour hot ingredients from cookie sheet and let cool completely on wax paper.

When stirring the mixture, remove the cookie sheet from the oven and set it on the stove. Use two spatulas or large spoons to stir. The mixture is very HOT when you are stirring so be careful.
