1 stick butter
1/2 cup oil
2 cups sugar
5 eggs, separated
1 cup buttermilk
1 t baking soda
2 cups flour
1 t vanilla
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Icing:
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened
1 t vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir baking soda into buttermilk. Add sifted flour into batter, alternating with buttermilk mixture. Add vanilla, coconut and chopped nuts. Beat egg whites and fold into mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan for a sheet cake or three 8 or 9 inch layer pans. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Cool and ice.

Icing:
Beat cream cheese and butter. Add vanilla, powdered sugar and nuts. Continue to beat until of spreading consistency.
