1 (1Pound) Box Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup Evaporated Milk
2 Cups Pecans, Chopped
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, salt, milk and butter in a 2 quart pan. Cook, stirring constantly over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add pecans. Cook over medium heat to soft ball stage, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool 5 minutes, stirring rapidly until mix thickens. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.

Soft-Ball Stage 235°–240°. At this temperature, sugar syrup dropped into cold water will form a soft, flexible ball. If you remove the ball from water, it will flatten like a pancake after a few moments in your hand.
