1 lb. Hamburg
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. water
1/8 slice bread
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 tsp. allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix egg and water. Soak bread in this for 5 min. Mix all ingredients together. Shape into small balls and brown in butter, slowly. Remove meatballs and all but 2 tbsp. of fat. Add about 3 tbsp. of flour to fat and stir until smooth. Add water to make medium gravy. Beef (boullion) cube or gravy master may be added to gravy and simmer 15 minutes. Place meatballs gently back into gravy.
Serves 6 - 8 people. double or triple recipe as needed for larger party.
