"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3-4 Granny Smith Apples
Red Hot Candies
1 C sugar
Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Peel & quarter apples. Melt red hot candies in 1 1/2-2 cups water on the stove -as they get hotter as they melt. Add sugar and a small chunk of butter. Drop your apples in and cook slowly on top of the stove, the syrup will thicken. Sometimes there will be syrup left and you can fix a few apples more. If you had the oven on, these will bake well to. Usually Bonnie you may only need 1/2 pkg of your red hots depends on how many apples you use. Also just to make them red and pretty I use a drop or so of red coloring.
