1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. bran
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar together. Beat eggs until
light and add to mixture. Press bananas thru sieve & add lemon juice. Blend with creamed mixture. Sift flour, baking powder & salt together, add baking soda and bran & mix quickly into banana mixture. Add nuts if desired. Bake in greased loaf pan in 375 oven about 1 1/4 hours. Makes l Loaf
