1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
1 green pepper chopped
3 ribs of celery chopped
1 10 ounce package frozen green peas, thawed
1/4 c. shopped red onion
1 pt Hellman's mayo
1 T. sugar
8 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled or chopped
Fresh parmesan cheese

Directions:

Chop and thoroughly wash and dry the lettuce.
In a large clear glass bowl, put half the lettuce, topped with half the green pepper, half the celery, half the peas, and half the red onion. Repeat layers of lettuce, green pepper, celery, peas and red onion. Scoop the mayo onto the top of the salad and spread to the sides of dish, completely sealing the lettuce. Sprinkle mayo with 1 T. sugar; sprinkle on bacon and grate on fresh parmesan cheese to taste.
Place in the refrigerator uncovered for a few hours or overnight.
