2 T. Pickling Spices, 2 T. Brown Sugar, Onions sliced into rings and then in half, Herring filets cut into 1/2-1 inch pieces, Vinegar

Directions:
In a quart size jar layer onions and herring alternating until jar is 7/8 full. Add pickling spices and brown sugar. Fill to top with Vinegar. Let sit for a week so the herring has a chance to cure with vinegar.
