One chuck roast medium size
1 large onion, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1 can tomato soup
3 carrots, diced
1 small cabbage, diced
1 turnip, diced
1/2 c. (or more) uncooked small egg noodles

Directions:
Directions:
Place the whole roast along with the onion (and salt and pepper to taste) in a large pot.

Cover with water and cook, covered, for about 45 minutes to an hour, until meat is tender.

Remove meat and cool. Then chop it into bite-size pieces.

While meat is cooling, add all the vegetables to the broth. Add chopped meat to vegetables and broth, and cook for about an hour.

Add noodles and cook until done.

Add tomato soup and cook a couple of minutes longer, until heated through.

We loved this soup growing up in Massachusetts and enjoyed watching Grandma Charron make it. Very simple but good. I usually add more vegetables, Make sure you use the tiny egg noodles.
