2 C sifted all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C Crisco shortening
2/3 to 3/4 C milk

Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in shortening until it looks like coarse crumbs. Make a well in the ingredients & add milk all at once. Stir quickly with a fork just until dough follows the fork around the bowl. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10-12 strokes. Roll or pat dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter or a donut cutter, cut straight down in the dough (no twisting). Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
