1/2 c shortening
1 c unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp allspice
1 c raisins
1 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add applesauce and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together. Dredge raisins in a portion of the flour mixture. add remaining flour to applesauce mixture then add raisins ( one egg may be added ). Mix well. Bake in loaf pan for 30 minutes at 350º.
