1 1/2 c sugar
1 c butter
2 eggs
2 c flour
4 Tbsp buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 mashed VERY ripe bananas
2 c chopped pecans
8 oz cream cheese
1 stick butter
2 c powdered sugar
2 Tbsp vanilla
dash of salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk, salt, flour, baking soda, and vanilla. Stir well, then add mashed bananas and pecans. Beat well. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake 30 - 35 minutes at 350 or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of cake comes out clean. Let cool then frost. To make frosting: Beat all ingredients until creamy. If mixture is too stiff to spread, add water 1 teaspoon at a time.
