1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
11/2 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1 cup chopped pecans
1 8 ounce package dates, chopped
Glaze:
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons orange zest
2 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 325º
Cream sugar and butter; add beaten eggs to cream mixture
In separate bowl, whisk together flour, soda, and salt
Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk
Add orange zest, dates and pecans
Pour into greased and floured bundt pan
Bake 90 minutes or until tester comes out clean
Remove from oven and poke holes in cake while in pan
Pour glaze over hot cake
Let stand several hours or overnight before removing from pan

Glaze:
Combine ingredients in small saucepan and heat
Do not boil
Pour over cake and let glaze drip into holes in cake
