1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil or shortening
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 heaping cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 to 2 cups coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Place butter, oil and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Sift sugar, flour, soda and salt together and add to hot mixture. Mix eggs, and buttermilk together and add. Stir in coconut, nuts and vanilla and pour into greased and floured jelly roll pan.

Frost with cream cheese frosting, or frosting of choice.

This is an original recipe of Grandma Bobby's. You may add nuts if desired, Bobby adds nuts to most everything!!!
