4 T cocoa
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup vegetable oil or shortening
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk

Icing
4T cocoa
1/2 cup margarine or butter
6 T milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
nuts or coconut, optional

Heat oven to 400º

Combine cocoa, butter, oil and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Sift sugar, flour, soda and salt together and add to cocoa mixture. Add eggs and buttermilk and pour into a buttered and floured jellyroll pan. (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1) Bake for 20 minutes

Combine icing ingredients and pour over cake immediately after taking it from oven.
