Ingredients:
4 C sugar
1 C light corn syrup
3/4 C water
3 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 C nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a 2 qt casserole. Cook in microwave 19 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. (Candy thermometer should read 260 degrees). If not, cook a bit longer until the reading is 260 degrees.

While syrup cooks, beat egg whites very still in a large bowl. Gradually pour hot syrup over egg whites and continue beating on high speed until thick and candy starts to lose its gloss (about 12 minutes). Add vanilla & nuts and drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. For a special occasion, you can also add a few drops of food coloring and beat until color is consistent.
