"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Directions:
Preheat oven to 35o degrees.

Heat 1/4 cup vegetable oil in skillet. In the meantime season pork chops with salt, black pepper and garlic powder to taste.

Put 1/2 cup flour in plate season with black pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder. Dredge both sides of pork chops in seasoned flour, shaking off excess.

Brown chops on both sides in hot oil. When browned, place half of onions on heavy duty aluminum foil, put chop on top of onions. Put remaining onions on top of chops along with a pad of butter. Seal foil around chops and cook in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Pour off oil from skillet except 1/4 cup. Add onions from pork chops and cook until translucent. Add 3 tablespoon of flour to onion-oil mixture, cook for 5 minutes, constantly stirring. Add water to make gravy and cook 3 minutes more. Return pork chops to skillet. Spoon onion gravy on top of pork chops, cover and simmer 30 minutes.

Besides shrimp and grits, this is my all-time breakfast comfort food. Pork chops for breakfast is sinfully delicious and makes you feel guilty about cheating on dinner.
