1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
2 cups whipping cream or half & half
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Butter an oblong dish and the sides of a heavy, 3 quart pan. Mix the sugars, syrup and one cup of the cream and bring to a boil. Slowly add the second cup of the cream. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until a candy thermometer reaches 244-246º.
Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla (and nuts if desired). Stir for a couple of minutes, then pour into the buttered dish. Allow to set up until firm (overnight). Cut into one inch squares and wrap in wax paper.
NOTE: It is best to not make these on an overcast or rainy day.
