3 cups sliced fresh peaches,
6 tbsp sugar,
2 cups flour,
1 tsp. baking soda,
1 tsp. baking powder,
1/4 tsp. salt,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
1 1/2 cups sugar,
1/2 cup shortening,
2 eggs,
1 cup finely chopped pecans,
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine peaches and 6 tbsp. sugar in a blender to puree, should make about 2 1/4 cups (set aside). In a large bowl combine flour,baking soda,baking powder,salt and cinnamon.(set aside) Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and shortening, cream well. Add eggs and mix. Add peach puree and dry ingredients mixing until ingredients are moist. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spoon batter into well greased and floured 9x5x3 loaf pans. Bake at 325º for 55 to 60 minutes until done. Cool 10 minutes in pans, turnout onto rack to finish cooling.
