3/4 c shortening

1 c granulated sugar

1 egg

1/4 c molasses

2 c all purpose flour

2 tsp soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

3/4 tsp cloves

3/4 tsp ginger

confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses thoroughly. Blend dry ingredients; stir into shortening mixture. Form into 1" balls. Place about 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. roll in confectioners' sugar while still warm.
