2 c. self rising flour
1/2 c. butter (one cube)
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, cream of tartar and baking powder. Cut in butter. With a fork, mix in milk to make a slightly sticky dough, and then mix dough by hand until it gathers into moist ball. Gently roll out ball on a floured board. Cut in circles and place on greased pan, close together. Place on upper rack in oven. Bake in 425º oven until very slightly brown. Serve hot.
