Butter Soup Recipe

10 cups water
6 medium sized potatoes
1 medium onion - whole
1/8 tsp. pepper
3 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1 small sprig parsley

Lazy Noodles:

1 egg
pinch of salt
1/3 cup flour
enough milk to make a runny dough


Directions:
Directions:
Put the first 6 ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil.
Cook until potatoes are almost tender, then add parsley. Cook until potatoes are done. Remove parsley, onion and bay leaves. Keep the soup boiling and pour the thin noodle batter into the soup a teaspoon at a time. When all is done, add butter (real butter) and cream to the soup according to taste.

Oma would make Schnetki to go with Butter soup. It was very tasty and a great warmer in the winter.
