3/4 cup shortening
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups oats
1 cup dried cranberries
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup sunflower seeds (opt)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease baking sheets. In a large bowl and using electric mixer, beat shortening, brown sugar, egg and syrup on medium speed until creamy. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing on low speed until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop dough by tbsp onto prepared baking sheet. Bake in centre of preheated oven for 8 - 12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges but still soft in the centre. Let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to racks, cool completely.
