1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Can be divided into 3 rolls and wrapped in wax paper. Chill. Slice and bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes.

I remember this cookies especially at Christmas. She would make them and have it ready to bake when we would arrive and hot cookies could be ready in a snap.
