1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 c. unsweetened apple sauce
1/4 c. hot water
2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cocoa
1/2 tsp cloves
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 c. raisins
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg and apple sauce. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with hot water, in which soda is dissolved. Add part of flour last. Beat well. Bake in 9x13 pan at 350º for 40 minutes.
