5 or 6 slices of bacon diced
2 1/2 to 3 cups diced potatoes
2 large stalks of celery diced
1 large onion diced
2 cans minced clams and liquid
2 cups water
3 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown bacon until crisp. Saute onions with bacon and then drain off fat. Add water, liquid from clams, potatoes and celery. Cover and simmer until potatoes begin to break down. Add clams, milk and 1 or 2 T butter. simmer 10 to 15 minutes longer. To thicken soup use instant potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
