¾ cup butter
½ cup sugar
2 cup sifted flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoons vanilla
¼ cup butter
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ¾ cup butter, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla in bowl. Beat until fine crumbs form using electric mixer at low speed. Set aside 1 cup crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into ungreased 9 x 13 pan. Bake 350 for 10 minutes.
Cream together ¼ cup butter, cream cheese and brown sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Stir in walnuts. Spread cheese mixture evenly over crumb crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Return to oven. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into bars. Makes 2 dozen.
