½ cup butter
½ cup oil
½ cup sugar
½ cup powder sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
½ teaspoon soda
2 cup plus 2 tablespoon flour
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream oil and butter with sugars. Add vanilla and egg. Sift dry ingredients and add. Roll 1 teaspoon dough into ball and roll in granulated sugar. Press down on a lightly greased cookie sheet with a wet glass dipped in sugar. Bake 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
Note: if using margarine instead of butter add ¼ teaspoon butter flavoring along with vanilla.
Recipe may be double or tripled
I frost the cookies with butter frosting.

Jack’s mother makes these and they are best sugar cookies. I believe Ruth told me that this recipe she copied from Grandmother Lillie Lindamood recipe box. I am asked to bring these cookies to work.
