1 1/2 c. milk, lukewarm
2/3 tsp yeast
sugar, to taste (Wanda like's 1/2 c. sugar)
3 Tbs. shortening
3 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle yeast over milk. Add 1 Tbs. sugar to mixture and stir until yeast and sugar are dissolved. Add remaining sugar to mixture. Add shortening, flour and salt. Mix. Knead until smooth.

Roll dough out like a jelly roll. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on dough and roll up. Cut into 1" slices and place onto a greased cookie sheet. Allow to rise until double.

Bake at 350º for 20-30 minutes.

I use my breadmaker to make these rolls now. Cheryl and Vickie tried to tell me how much easier a breadmaker would be. I finally bought one and my wrists are fine now. You can freeze the rolls and bring them out as you need them. Freeze before the rolls rise.
