Ginger Snaps Recipe

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Put in refrigerator to chill.

Break off pieces and roll in sugar. Flatten with glass. Put on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 8 to 10 minutes.
